This carriage conveying device is furnished with the carriage 11, the rails 12 to travel the carriage 11 and plural driving wheels 95 to apply driving force to the carriage to travel the carriage 11 along the rails 12 by frictionally engaging with the carriage 11. The carriage 11 is constituted of two front and rear carries 21, 22 and a carriage main body 23 loaded on these front and rear carriers 21, 22. Each of the carriers 21, 22 is constituted of at least one of trolleys 31-34 traveling on the rail 12 and is free to rotate around a vertical shaft 62 against the carriage main body 23. The driving wheels 95 are arranged on required points along the main line route 81 and the two branch routes 83 of the rails 12.
