Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for attachment of bacteria in which the carrier has a sufficient strength and can be easily manufactured and has a surface suitable for attachment of bacteria and sufficient surface area and can be easily used and has good fluidity even if agitation energy is small and large bacteria carrying capacity, and in which separation and falling of bacteria layers can be avoided even in case of strong agitation.
SOLUTION: The carrier for attachment bacteria for use in a fluidized bed waste water treatment, in which oxygen-enriched air is used, comprises synthetic resins and inorganic substances and has actual specific gravity of 0.95-1.10 g/cm3, external diameter (D) of 8-25 mm&phiv , thickness (t) of 1-2 mm and length (L) being 0.8-1.2 times the external diameter, and the carrier has a cylindrical shape and a plurality of ribs (a) each having a thickness (W) of 1-2 mm and height (H) of 1-6 mm and each longitudinally extending are provided inside or inside and outside the cylindrically-shaped carrier.
