Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the peeling or falling of a coating layer from a core material by coating the surface of the core material which is Cu-Zn ferrite particles with a resin having a specified F atom content.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a core material is coated with a resin having ≥30at.% F content to obtain the objective carrier. The core material is Cu-Zn ferrite particles having 0.1-1.0wt.% P atom content and contg. ≤100ppm residual As. When the carrier is produced by a dry coating method, a coating layer of the resin does not peel or fall from the core material and the occurrence and mixing of free fluororesin are suppressed. Free fluororesin causing filming on a cleaning blade and white spots as an image defect does not exist in a developer at the time of use and the occurrence of image defects such as white spots and background fog is prevented.
