A carrier device comprises a guide member for supporting a plurality of pallets on which a work-piece is loaded and guiding movement of the plurality of the pallets in a predetermined conveying direction and a moving mechanism for conveying the plurality of the pallets along the guide member. The moving mechanism is arranged at predetermined intervals in the predetermined conveying direction and comprises an engaging part for engaging with and releasing engagement from the plurality of the pallets simultaneously and a reciprocating mechanism for reciprocating the engaging parts simultaneously in the predetermined conveying direction and in the direction orthogonal to the predetermined conveying direction. The carrier device is at least provided at plural stopping positions of the pallets along the guide member and includes an engaged member for engaging with a part of the pallet so as to stop movement of the pallet.
