PURPOSE: To provide a carrier device which can decrease the installation area of a warehouse largely.
CONSTITUTION: This carrier device is provided with plural traveling wheels which are mounted at the load carrying platform 3 of a transporting vehicle 1 and constituted so as to rotate smoothly, plural traveling guides 5 which are mounted in the horizontal plane of the load carrying platform 3 and at point-symmetrical positions to the center of the plane, and a track 2 where the traveling guides 5 are fitted and which can change the direction of the transporting vehicle 1 at an orthogonal position. At a track 2 direction changing position, a linear motor for branch is installed, and at a position where the traveling wheels 4 cross the track 2, a laid device is mounted. The track 2 is provided with a locking device and a storage device at specific positions.
