Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an easy-to-produce and inexpensive titled carrier causing no degradation in friction electrostatic charging properties despite long-term repetitive use by coating the surfaces of a core material with resin coating layers contg. specific higher fatty acid (bis)amides.

CONSTITUTION: The surfaces of a carrier core material are coated with resin coating layers contg. ≥1 kind of compounds selected from the higher fatty acid amide and higher fatty acid bisamide expressed by the formulaIand formula II (R is C17WC21 alkyl; n is 2W4), whereby the titled carrier is prepd. Styrenic resins and acrylic resins are preferable as essential components for the resin coating layers, and the contents of the compounds of the formulaIor formula II are preferably ≥0.01wt% based on the total weight of the coating layers. Then, the compounds of the formulaIor formula II migrate and deposit from the inside of the coating layers and lower the surface tension of the carrier, thereby preventing the sticking of toners on the carrier surfaces and improving fluidity.
