Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel carrier for an exhaust gas purification catalyst that is excellent in catalytic activity, particularly in catalytic activity at a low temperature and to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst that contains the carrier for an exhaust gas purification catalyst and a catalytic active component.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst is produced by having a catalytic active component carried on a catalyst carrier composed of a particle including a silicate or a phosphate each containing one kind or two or more kinds of elements belonging to group 1 and group 2 of the periodic table. The silicate comprises Ca, Sr or Ba, or two or more kinds thereof and the phosphate is one represented by a compositional formula, APO, where x is 2 or 1.5. In the case of x=2, A is a combination of one or more kinds of monovalent elements selected from among Li, Na, K and Cs with one or more kinds of divalent elements selected from among Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; and in the case of x=1.5, A comprises a divalent element.SELECTED DRAWING: None
