Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce easily a carrier material maintaining well the magnetic permeability and having superior image reproducibility by using particles obtd. by sintering fine magnetic powder of an Fe-Si-Al alloy.

CONSTITUTION: This carrier material is made of sintered particles of an Fe-Si- Al alloy. The magnetic permeability of a carrier material made of only Fe lowers. This carrier material keeps the magnetic permeability high, increases the maximum image density (Dmax) and can enhance the image (especially fine line) reproducibility. When magnetic powder to be sintered to produce a carrier material is as fine as ≤30μm, the magnetic permeability of the carrier material made of only Fe lowers remarkably. The Fe-Si-Al alloy is very effective in case of such fine magnetic powder. It is preferable that the alloy contains 2W20wt% Al and 1W10wt% Si.
