To obtain a carrier-type metallocene catalyst capable of carrying out a continuous polymerization reaction for a long time without causing fouling phenomenon, and to provide a method for preparing it.
This carrier-type metallocene catalyst is prepared by washing a carrier-type metallocene catalyst comprising (a) a metallocene-ether-inorganic salt adduct, (b) an alkylaluminoxane, and (c) a silica carrier 3 to 6 times with a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon to remove fine particles contained in the catalyst, resulting in removal of 'partially active component' from the catalyst. Accordingly, continuous polymerization reaction can be carried out foe a long time without causing fouling phenomenon because the partially active component never piles up on the surface of the reactor wall increasingly.
