This carrying device includes upper-lower paper ejecting rollers 340 and 341 for applying carrying forces by abutting on the sheet bundle SB after a tip of the sheet bundle passes through a carrying position by retreating to a position of not applying a drive force to the sheet bundle SB before the tip of the sheet bundle SB formed in a flat back face shape, a link 601, a crank 602 and an opening/closing drive motor 603 for abutting by retreating the paper ejecting rollers 340 sand 341 from the sheet bundle SB, and upper/lower carrier belts 311 and 312 positioned at the upstream side in the sheet bundle carrying direction of the paper ejecting rollers 340 and 341 and carrying the sheet bundle to the paper ejecting rollers 340 and 341. When carrying the sheet bundle SB, the drive forces from the paper ejecting rollers 340 and 341 are not applied to the corner of the back face flatly formed by a back face forming means arranged between both the belts.
