PURPOSE: To enable a line to be operated for a long time by efficiently carrying a plate and a scrap box into and out of an automatic warehouse in a small installation area and simple constitution.

CONSTITUTION: This carrying device is applied to a facility in which a scrap box 10 is provided on the side of a stock conveyor 8. The stock conveyor 8 is used for loading a plate W carried out from a plate working machine onto a carriage 13. In this facility, a placing base 11 directly loading the scrap box 10 thereon is provided and also a temporary placing base 12 of a pallet P is provided in a carrying in/out station ST for an automatic warehouse 1. Hence, not only the plate W but the scrap box can be carried into and out of the automatic warehouse 1 by utilizing the carriage 13 and the pallet P.
