To provide a carrying device which has a simple mechanism and a carrying control, can facilitate phasing of a pinion tooth before a rack engages with the pinion, and can smoothly move without giving shock to a carrying cart.
The carrying cart 7 is equipped with the rack 6 which is engaged with a plurality of pinions 5. The pinion 5 is respectively connected with a driving shaft 8 from a line shaft 4 connected to a motor 2 through an orthogonal gear 3, and a clutch 1 is interposed in the driving shaft 8. The pinion 5 is driven/nondriven by engaging/disengaging of the clutch 1, and the carrying cart 7 moves by the repetition. The phase of the pinion 5 tooth which the rack 6 of the carrying cart 7 engages next, can be adjusted by a slit plate 13 fixed to the driving shaft 8 and an optical fiber sensor 14 disposed in the vicinity of the slit plate 13.
