To provide carton cover closing equipment which makes it possible to shorten a carton carrier line, to easily prepare for a carton change if there is one and has higher generality corresponding to various cartons as well.
A cover flap 73a, while it is bent to a certain extent by tilting forward a flap bending member 11, is adsorbed and held by an adsorption head 41. The tuck 77 is bent roughly 90° by turning a tuck bending member 51, and from this condition, one end part of the flap bending member 11 is lowered by one of the cylinders 30 to insert one end part of the tuck 77 into the body part 71 of the carton 70. Then by the other cylinder 30, the other end part of the flap bending member 11 is lowered to insert the other end part of the tuck 77 into the body part 71 of the carton 70. Then by turning the tuck bending member 51, the tuck bending member 51 is separated from the tuck 77. In this condition, the flap bending member 11 is further tilted forward and the whole tuck 77 is inserted into the body part 71.
