PURPOSE: To improve the work efficiency by a method wherein a clamper to lower respective cartons under an aligned condition in a case for each layer is provided, and the case is shifted in the lateral direction at the packing location in order to shift each layer of the cartons in the horizontal direction in the case.
CONSTITUTION: An aligning means 11 which aligns a specified number of cartons 2, a clamper 12 which is arranged on the top of the aligning means 11 and raises the aligned cartons 2 by gripping the tops of the cartons 2, and an elevating table 44 which is arranged under the aligning means 11 are provided. The carton packing device is equipped with a case receiving table 46 which is laterally shiftably supported on the elevating table 44, and a shifting means 54 which shifts the case receiving table 46. By a lifting means 45, the case receiving table 46 is lifted to raise a case 3 from a carrying conveyor 10, and the case 3 is shifted by the shifting means 54 when cartons for a second layer are packed. By this method, the structure of the device becomes simpler, and the workability can be improved.
