PURPOSE: To use a device having only one driving source for a straight movement and to make the device inexpensive by providing an elastic engaging body and a guide plate abutted on a backwardly and forwardly chucking lever for opening/closing the lever.
CONSTITUTION: The guide plate 15 of a carrier 32 is abutted on the specified position of the rear end of a chucking lever 1 during the forward movement of a carrying mechanism, the chucking lever 1 is rotated in an opening direction so that an optical disk cartridge 8 is held. On the other hand, an elastic engaging member 17 is abutted on a projection part provided on the chucking lever 1 in a specified position during the process of the forward movement of the carrying mechanism in so that the cartridge 8 is held. Thus, the chucking mechanism is simplified, the driving source is only necessary for the forward and backward movement to reduce a cost.
