To provide a cartridge detergent capable of making damage given to a cleaning object less, and, capable of removing dirt or bacteria accumulated on the cleaning object.SOLUTION: A cartridge detergent for an automatic cleaning machine of a method in which a water-insoluble vessel having a supply port of a content is installed with the supply port directed downward, the content is supplied while dissolving the content by injecting water to the supply port, the content is a solid detergent composition containing an alkali agent (A), a chelate agent (B) and a chlorine agent (C), the cartridge detergent is installed to a supply device additional to the automatic cleaning machine, when an effective chlorine concentration of the detergent obtained by dissolving the solid detergent composition in water of 35°C is measured over from use start to use end of the cartridge detergent in a cleaning liquid in which a concentration of the solid detergent composition becomes 0.10 wt%, a peak where the effective chlorine concentration in the detergent liquid becomes 5 ppm or higher and 100 ppm or lower exists at least one in a first half period and in a second half period among an interval from use start to use end of the cartridge detergent.SELECTED DRAWING: None
