PURPOSE: To prevent malfunction and provide fast operations by making a device to set and remove a micro-film cartridge on/from a rack in such an arangement that a catcher is installed on the front face of said rack with possibility of movng along X and Y axes as well as rotating along the plane in parallel with the X axis.
CONSTITUTION: In conformity to a cartridge address command given by a control device, a pair of drive devices 5, 6 slide on guide rails 3, 4 along the X axis, and meantime a cartridge receiver device 10 slides on guide rails 7, 8 along the Y axis. Either of the catchers 11, 12 is guided to the specified address while taking attitude with its arm contracted. When the catcher 11, for ex., has stopped in the position of specified address, its arm is extended to grasp the specified cartridge. Then the arm shrinks and the above-mentioned receiver device 10 rotates 180° to allow replacement of catchers 11, 12, and if there is any accommodated cartridge, the catcher arm is extended to accommodate it. This arrangement assures sure and rapid setting/removal of cartridges.
