To provide a cartridge loading mechanism capable of appropriately holding a loaded cartridge and being so constructed that the cartridge is brought into contact with a sensing pin at a proper rate.
The cartridge loading mechanism comprises a cartridge holder 111 in which a cartridge is loaded and a mobile support section 117 which can move to support the cartridge, wherein the mobile support section 117 can move from a loading enabling position where a cartridge can be loaded in the cartridge holder 111 to a support position where the cartridge is supported, a linkage 70 which makes a cooperative movement with the mobile support section 117 is disposed, and when the section 117 is in the support position, the linkage 70 functions to restrain the section 117 from moving in a direction leaving the cartridge holder 111.
