PURPOSE: To prevent generation of dust by friction of a reading out device and a cartridge, etc., and to prevent such an accident that a user drops the cartridge by slipping the cartridge from the hand at the time of handling the cartridge by forming the cartridge into a specific structure.

CONSTITUTION: This cartridge 1 is provided with a recessed part 3 for the finger. The recessed part 3 is a part to hold the cartridge 1 with the finger at the time of attaching and detaching the cartridge to and from a reproducing device, etc. For easier handling, the position is preferably near a edge 4 distant from the side provided with an aperture 2 for accessing a reproducing head. While the size and depth of the recessed part 3 may be properly determined, formation of slight ruggedness at the inside surface of the recessed part 3 to provide for preventing slipping of the finger can be considered as well. Such recessed part 3 stabilizes handling of the cartridge 1 and lessens the failure of the cartridge 1 by dropping or generation of reproduction errors by adhesion of dust thereon in case of dropping.
