Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance the operability by an operator and to improve the efficiency of system operations by counting the quantity of the magnetic tape used at the time of writing and displaying this quantity on a recording medium during rewinding or winding. CONSTITUTION:The data on the control instruction from a host device is supplied to the cartridge type magnetic tape processor 1 and the data is written via a control section 2 on the cartridge type magnetic tape 6. The quantity of the tape 6 used is simultaneously counted by a 1st counter 3. The result of the counting is displayed in the prescribed part of the tape 6 by a 1st printing section 5 during the rewinding or winding of the tape 6. Since the used quantity is visible to the eyes, the operability by the operator is enhanced and the efficiency of the system operations is improved. In addition, the correct reading out of the data up to the display block when the processing is to be interrupted by a serious fault is executed any time by the block count number by a 2nd counter 4 and the display by a 2nd printing section 7.
