PURPOSE: To ensure that cut power is discharged by installing a sleeve with a tapered inner diameter in an annular space formed around the periphery of a rotating bar-like cutter with a blade provided at the tip, on the circumference of the tip of the cutter, and forming a communication opening leading to an outer area from the annular space in the sleeve, when a carving machine which carves the surface of an acrylic plate is used.

CONSTITUTION: A bar-like cutter 10 having a blade 12 at the tip is mounted on a spindle 14 in a freely detachable manner, and is allowed to rotate to carve a plate 90. A cylindrical sleeve 40 with a tapered inner diameter is attached to the periphery of the cutter 10. Then an annular space 42 is formed between the inner side of the sleeve 40 and the outer side of the cutter 10. Further, a communication opening 44 is provided on part of the lateral wall of the sleeve 40 to allow the annual space to communicate with the outer part of the sleeve 40. In addition, the communication opening 44 is connected to an aspirator through a connection hose to aspirate and discharge cut powder generated by the cutter 10.
