Title:
METAL GASKET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3126418
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the sealing performance of a gasket and suppress the generation of stress corrosion cracking to a protruding bead.
CONSTITUTION: A metal gasket is formed of a soft metal plate 1a and a hard metal plate 1b overlapped with each other. In the vicinity of a combustion chamber hole 2, a first circumferential protruding bead 4 for surrounding the combustion chamber hole 2 is formed at the soft metal plate 1a and a second circumferential protruding bead 5 for surrounding the first protruding bead 4 is formed at the hard metal plate 1b. With the first protruding bead 4, the second protruding bead 5 is prevented from being exposed to combustion gas, so that stress corrosion cracking is not easily generated to the second protruding bead 5. Sealing performance is also improved due to the first and second protruding beads 4, 5.
