PURPOSE: To provide a case packer which can pack automatically flat articles such as glass plates into a carriage or carriage case.

CONSTITUTION: Empty carriages 101 are intermittently introduced at an empty carriage introduction station 1. The empty carriage is delivered by a deliver lever 211a to a positioning box 202. A work conveyor 4 operates to feed works one by one to the empty carriage or carriage packing station 2. Intermittent moving means 205 lifts the box 202 a distance equal to the distance between partition panels of the empty carriage. Every time the work is fed the box 202 is lifted, and thus the works are successively packed onto respective partition panels of the carriage. When the last bottom partition panel of the carriage is packed with the work the box 22 is lowered. The packed carriage is transfered by a deliver lever 211b to a packed carriage carrying-out station 3 to carry it out to a carrying-out shoot.
