Abstract:
A casing structure for an in-wheel motor drive device is configured such that a casing that forms the outer shell of the in-wheel motor drive device includes: a first casing (22t) having a plurality of bolt seats (22s); a second casing (22a) having a plurality of female thread holes (76); and a plurality of bolts (71) passed through through-holes (22v), respectively, and engaged with the female thread holes, respectively, thereby connecting and affixing the first casing to the second casing, the through-holes (22v) being formed in the plurality of bolt seats, respectively. The casing structure for an in-wheel motor drive device is characterized in that: bolt seat surfaces (22w), each having formed therein one end opening of a corresponding one of the through-holes and each being subjected to pressing force from the head (73) of the bolt, are formed protruding from a surface (22x) of the first casing; and a rib (22r) extending from one bolt seat to another bolt seat is formed on the surface of the first casing.
