Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and properly select a suitable cassette for surgery to be combined with each instrument for surgery, and to apply this selected cassette.
SOLUTION: A cassette 10 for surgery is provided with a series of patterned folding type tabs 36 formed integrally with the cassette as identifiers to be mechanically or optically sensed by an instrument 11 for surgery. On the other hand, the instrument 11 is provided with an infrared light emitting diode, namely, an LED 36 and a phototransistor 40 and pulse light from the diode 36 is reflected on the tab 36 and made incident to the phototransistor 40 for close identification and investigation.
