PURPOSE: To reduce a drive source and to save a space, by a method wherein one of the sample containing positions of cassettes is selectively positioned at the same level as that of a mechanism for conveying in and out samples.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary driving shaft 18 is supported in a vacuum container 17' by a bearing, and a bevel gear is fixedly attached to the forward end thereof. A casing 21, holding the bearing, is secured to a base plate 22. Nuts 31 and 32 matching their respective screws are supported to a screw shaft by means of holders 33 and 34 and are fastened to lifters 35 and 36. Meanwhile, blocks 37, 38, 39, and 40, sliding over guides 28 and 29, are respectively secured to the lifters 35 and 36. Thus, with the rotary driving shaft 18 rotated, the lifters 35 and 36 are simultaneously moved close to or away from each other, and if they equalize with each other in a screw pitch, cassettes can be fed in order in response to the number of revolutions.
