Abstract:
To provide a cast hollow camshaft which is produced at a low cost with a casting method and also, can achieve the sufficient lightening of weight of preventing the formation of useless thick portion.
A diameter expanding part 5 corresponding to a bearing part 2 is formed in a hollow part 4 in a base shaft 1 and a core can easily be removed after casting the camshaft by inclining the inside surfaces 4a of the right and the left sides of this diameter expanding part 5 as the tapered shapes. Further, the outside surfaces 2a at the right and the left sides of the bearing part 2 are inclined as the tapered shapes so as to be matched to the shape of the diameter expanding part 5 and thus, the thickness of the bearing part 2 is uniformized.
