Abstract:

To provide a cast-in member in which the casting residual stress or residual strain is low when its outer circumferential surface is cast in with a casting material.

A single film layer 12 having the coefficient of thermal expansion of an intermediate value between the coefficient of thermal expansion of a casting material forming the cylinder block 20 and the coefficient of thermal expansion of a cylinder liner body 11 is formed over the entire outer circumferential surface of a cylinder liner 10. A magnesium-based material or an aluminum-based material can be used for the cylinder liner body 11 made of cast iron, and the film layer is made of copper-based or aluminum-based material. In the case of the copper-based film layer, its film thickness is set to be ≥30 μm and ≤300 μm. In the case of the aluminum-based film layer, its film thickness is set to be ≥300 μm, and ≤2,500 μm. After the cast-in, the cast-in material is preferably heat-treated at 150°C to 200°C.
