Abstract:
To provide a cast iron material having low friction coefficient and excellent toughness.SOLUTION: A cast iron material according to the present embodiment has a chemical composition containing, by mass%, C:2.4 to 3.3%, Si:2.0% or smaller, and Mn:0.33% or smaller, in which in a microstructure, an area rate of ferrite relative to a total area excluding graphite is 88.5% or larger, in a vertical cross-section parallel in a longer direction of the cast iron material, an average aspect ratio of the graphite is 11.0 or larger, and, in a cross-section vertical to a longer direction of the cast iron material, an average aspect ratio of the graphite is 9.0 or smaller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
