Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast iron member excellent in wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and a method of manufacturing the cast iron member.SOLUTION: The cast iron member is provided which contains 3.0 mass% to 3.7 mass% of carbon, 1.5 mass% to 2.5 mass% of silicon, 0.5 mass% to 1.0 mass% of manganese, 0.1 mass% to 0.5 mass% of phosphorus, 0.12 mass% or less of sulfur, more than 1.0 mass% and 2.0 mass% or less of copper and more than 0.6 mass% and 1.0 mass% or less of chromium and the balance iron with inevitable impurities and which has as a metallographic structure of the cast iron member, a perlite that is a lamellar structure of ferrite and cementite and which has a percentage satisfied by a part of lamellar spacing of 0.7 μm or less to an area of perlite of 70% or more.
