Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the durability of cam shafts, tappets, rocker arms, etc., which are sliding contact parts.
CONSTITUTION: The cast iron parts having excellent wear resistance and scuffing resistance include a first chilled layer which is coated with a rapid cooling or chilling accelerator and is formed by casting and a second chilled layer 3 which is formed subjected to a remelt curing treatment by irradiation with high-density energy, such as TIG arc. The roughness of the surface is ≤0.2Z. The roughness is imparted by abrasive polishing, etc.
