PURPOSE: To reduce the assist force of power steering when a vehicle is at a stop by constituting the caster angle control device so as to reduce a caster angle when a detecting means detects that the vehicle is in the state of a stop.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 26 performs specified control based on the detected information from various sensors 29. This controller 26 is provided with a caster angle setting part that determins a caster value C based on a signal from a speed sensor in response to car speed V and sets the caster value through an actuator 25 based on bases that differ in both states so as to perform caster angle control when a vehicle is travelling and caster angle control when the vehicle is at a stop, namely, sets according to a specified map when travelling, however, sets the caster value at almost 0 indifferent to the map when the vehicle is at a stop, making steering effort small when the vehicle is at a stop, and steering easy.
