PURPOSE: To improve a control feeling during high speed travel by controlling caster angle adjusting mechanism to assume a caster angle set by a caster angle setting means, and delaying control responsiveness during this control in proportion to the increase of the vehicle speed on the basis of vehicle, speed information.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 26 sets an optimum caster angle on the basis of information inputted from various sensors 29 such as a vehicle speed sensor and a steering angle sensor. Caster angle adjusting mechanism 12 is then controlled by an actuator 25 so as to assume this set caster angle. At this time, a time constant for determining responsiveness is set larger as the vehicle speed becomes larger according to the input information of the vehicle speed sensor so as to delay control responsiveness in proportion to the increase of the vehicle speed. A steering feeling and the like during high speed travel can be thereby improved.
