PURPOSE: To provide a caster angle control device wherein release of a steering force is generated and perceived as steering angle limit information by a driver through control of a caster angle according to a road surface friction factor.
CONSTITUTION: In a caster angle control device comprising a suspension device having a variable length wind up link, a car speed V and lateral acceleration Yg are read (S1). A car speed constant Kv is decided from the car speed V (S2) based on a speed control map. A road surface constant Kμ is decided (S3) from lateral acceleration Kv based on a lateral acceleration control map preset according to a road surface friction factor. Target caster angles θFL and θFR are calculated (S4) by using the car speed constant Kv and the road surface constant Kμ. The length of a variable length wind up 15 is controlled (S5-S8) so that target caster angles θFL and θFR are achieved.
