Abstract:
To provide a caster capable of regulating the temperature of molten metal more suitably.SOLUTION: A caster comprises a molten-metal hold unit 3 allowed to hold molten metal 10 therein and a control unit 4 connected to the molten-metal hold unit 3. In the caster, the molten-metal hold unit 3 has a runner 6 for injecting the molten metal 10 held in the molten-metal hold unit 3 into a metal mold, a temperature regulating unit 7 that regulates the temperature of the molten metal internal of the runner 6, a replenishing port 8 for supplementing molten metal 10 into the molten-metal hold unit 3, and a temperature sensor 9 that measures the temperature of the molten metal internal of the molten-metal hold unit 3, in which the control unit 4 calculates the temperature of the molten metal internal of the runner 6 based on the temperature of the molten metal measured by the temperature sensor 9 and a characteristic of the molten metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
