Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a fiber-reinforced composite metal under all automation and high productivity by supplying molten metal and fibrous material in an injecting sleeve at the same time and injecting into dies while stirring by an injecting plunger.

CONSTITUTION: The fibrous material 37 is charged in the sleeve 35 by the plunger 38 and the molten metal is supplied in the inner cylinder 13 of injecting sleeve 11 from a molten metal gate 31 by working pressurized molten metal supplying mechanism 32, and so the fibrous material 37 in the sleeve 35 is impregnated and gas, such as air, etc., is exhausted to the atmosphere from a hopper 36. At the time of filling up the constant quantity of molten metal in the inner cylinder 13 and the sleeve 35, the injecting plunger 15 is ascended by an actuator 26 at the position, where the groove 17 coincides with a supplying hole 18, and also the fibrous material 37 is sent in the inner cylinder 13 by the injecting plunger 15 is rotated by an actuator 24, and the fibrous material 37 and the molten metal are enough stirred and mixed by a stirring blade 16 and also the injecting plunger 15 is shifted forward by the actuator 26 and the molten metal is injected into a cavity 48 formed by the upper die 47 and the lower die 46 through a nozzle 41.
