This casting apparatus 20 is provided with the metallic molds 21 for forming a casting, and a metal fine grain generating mechanism 22 and a high temperature gas generating mechanism 24 connected so as to be freely fitted/separated with the respective metallic molds 21. The metal fine grain generating mechanism 22 is provided with a metal holding part 30 for holding magnesium 26, a cylindrical part 32 for supplying argon gas into the magnesium 26, an argon gas flow-rate control part 34 for controlling the flow-rate of the argon gas supplied into the cylindrical part 32 and an argon gas heating control part 36 for heating the argon gas supplied into the cylindrical part 32 to a prescribed temperature.
