To provide a casting device which can improve a filling speed to fill a molten metal with the pressure in the vicinity of atmospheric pressure into a cavity connected to a vent-hole opened on the surface of a molding die.
The casting device is provided with a plunger driving device 26, which moves a sleeve 22 connected to a molten metal pouring port 34 provided below the cavity 32 and in which a molten metal supply port 25 is formed in the middle and a plunger 24 inserted from the other end of the sleeve 22 so as to open/close the molten metal supply port 25, and a molten metal pump provided to a holding furnace in which the molten metal is held and to feed the molten metal in the holding furnace so as to fill the molten metal from below the cavity 32 via the molten metal supply port 25. It has the following characteristics. It is provided with a control part 40 to drive the plunger driving device 26 so as to close the molten metal supply port 25 by moving the tip of the plunger 24 to the molten metal pouring port 34 after the molten metal is supplied from the molten metal pouring port 34 to the inside of the cavity 32 via the molten metal supply port 25 and the sleeve 22, and when the filling of the molten metal is completed.
