Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting and a production thereof capable of forming a metal oxide stably at a high area ratio on the surface.SOLUTION: A method according to the invention for forming an alumina barrier layer on the surface on a casting is a method for forming an alumina barrier layer containing an Al oxide on the surface of a casting containing Cr: 15% or more, Ni:18% or more, and Al: 2.0-4.0%. The method comprises: a surface processing step of subjecting said casting to a surface treatment and causing the surface of said casting to have an arithmetic average roughness (Sa) of a three-dimensional surface roughness of 1.5≤Sa≤5.0, and a degree of deviation (Ssk) of |Ssk|≤0.30; and a step of heating said surface-processed casting thereby to form an alumina barrier layer containing an AI oxide on the surface of the casting.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
