Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of a roughened casting surface, cavity and recess, etc. by casting a molten titanium metal into a prescribed casting mold consisting of a copper metal.
CONSTITUTION: The inside surface of the spool line 5 and casting chamber 4 of a casting mold 2 consisting of a copper alloy such as beryllium copper or copper is smoothed. A vent 6 communicating with the chamber 4 is formed in the direction where the casting pressure acts. Molten titanium or titanium alloy 9 is poured into such mold 2. A casting having less roughened casting surface, cavity and recess is obtd. by the above-mentioned method.
