Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cast prosthesis having a porous surface layer formed between castings by forming a patterns of the brazing filler metal of the prosthesis, then forming the porous surface layer near the pattern of the brazing filler metal in a suitable positions. SOLUTION: A part of the brazing filler metal pattern 10 is enclosed with the porous surface layer 12. The porous surface layer 12 is formed of metallic wire meshes. The porous surface layer 12 may be formed of various known materials, such as metallic beads, which form a layer when sintered. The porous surface layer 12 is so heated that the pores formed within the porous surface layer 12 are partly packed or closed with the brazing filler metal pattern material. The porous surface layer is then pressed to the outer surface of the brazing filler metal pattern 10. The brazing filler metal does not infiltrate the outer part of the porous surface layer 12 and, therefore, the original porosity is maintained. Next, the brazing filler metal pattern 10 adhered with the porous surface layer 12 is repetitively immersed into a ceramic investment medium 14 and is solidified, by which a structural body is formed.
