Abstract:

To easily generate new catalog information.

A system is equipped with a real frame value difference arithmetic means which finds differences between the real frame value of old catalog information 30A generated from moving picture data 10 in a predetermined compression format and the real frame value of old catalog information 30B generated from the same moving picture data in different compression format, scene by scene, and computes their mean value on the basis of the total of the differences of all scenes, and a real frame value estimation means which updates the real frame value by adding the mean value found by the real frame value difference arithmetic means to the real frame value of the old catalog information 30A to obtain new catalog information 40 corresponding to the different compression format.
