Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for addition polymerization which catalyst is capable of manufacturing a stereoregular α-olefin polymer without using as the catalyst component a metallocene compound of a transition metal and to provide a method for manufacturing an addition polymer.
SOLUTION: The catalyst for addition polymerization is obtained by contacting (A) the group 12 metal-containing meso porous solid which is obtained by contacting a meso porous solid with a compound of the transition metal in the group 12 of the periodic table and then by baking them, and (B) an organoaluminum compound. The method for manufacturing an addition polymer comprises the polymerization of an addition-polymerizable monomer by using the above catalyst for addition polymerization.
