Abstract:

To obtain an NOx occlusion-reduction type catalyst which can control sulfur poisoning and has high durability by using a catalyst carrier in which the features of each metal element constituting a compound oxide are developed at the maximum.

The catalyst support which has pores in a meso-pore region and contains tetragonal zirconia and in which at least parts of ZrO2and TiO2are converted into a ZrO2-TiO2solid solution by burning a precipitate coprecipitated from a solution of acid salts of Al, Zr, and Ti at 650°C or above is prepared. Since the catalyst support is burned at a high temperature, the decrease of the specific surface area when used as a catalyst is controlled.
