Title:
CATALYST CARRIER AND EXHAUST GAS CLEANING CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3830011
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the lowering of NOx power in waste gas containing SOx suppresible and make the NOx cleaning power maintainable even after being exposed in an exhaust gas at 700°C or higher.
SOLUTION: The catalyst carrier composed of alumina particles and compound oxide layers of the structure formed at least on a part of alumina particle surfaces and represented by a chemical formula MO-nAL2O3 is used (In the formula, M represents at least one kind selected from among alkali earth metals and rare earth elements). As the compound oxide layer is not solid phase reacted with an NOx occlusion element, high heat resistance is provided. Also, since the compound oxide layer has a large specific surface area, the dispersing properties of precious metals, the NOx occlusion elements are improved to provide high cleaning activities, and the decomposition properties of a composite sulfate formed by sulfur poisoning is also improved.
