A high temp. active catalyst for cleaning diesel engine exhaust gas, which contains a nitrogen oxide reducing 1st catalyst layer, containing an iron-doped modified zirconium dioxide carried part and a catalyst part composed of copper or copper oxide, and a particulate material removing 2nd catalyst layer, containing a copper doped modified zirconium dioxide carried part, a main catalyst part composed of a mixture of platinum with tin and a copper oxide co-catalyst part, and a low temp. active catalyst, for cleaning the diesel engine exhaust gas which contains the nitrogen oxide reducing 1st catalyst layer, containing the iron doped modified zirconium dioxide carried part and a catalyst part composed of palladium, and a particulate materials removing 2nd catalyst layer, containing the copper doped modified zirconium dioxide carried part, the main catalyst part composed of the mixture of platinum with tin and the copper oxide co-catalyst part, are provided.
