Abstract:
To improve the warm-up performance of a catalyst until the catalyst reaches the activation temperature when an engine is started.
This catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas is composed of a carrier base material, a catalyst depositing layer formed on the carrier base material and a noble metal catalyst deposited on the catalyst depositing layer. The catalyst depositing layer is composed of at least two layers, namely, a metal oxide layer which is the lower layer on the side of the carrier base material and has 40-75% porosity and another metal layer which is the upper layer on the side of the uppermost surface and ≤5 W/mK thermal conductivity.
