Title:
CATALYST COMBUSTION HEATER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3810587
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst combustion heater which can exhibit catalyst capacity sufficiently and is excellent in heat exchange efficiency and is highly reliable.
SOLUTION: A large number of tubes 5 having insides that function as heating object fluid passages and catalyst carrying fins 51 joined to external surfaces are arranged in a fuel gas passage 11 of a heat exchanger 1 so as to heat the heating object fluid by the oxidative reaction of fuel gas. A controller 6 controls a combustion assisting gas feeder 4 so as to increase the quantity of the supplied combustion assisting gas mixed and supplied into the fuel gas when the temperature of the combustion exhaust gas detected with a temperature detector 8 installed in the exhaust gas port 13 of the fuel gas passage 11 reaches a dew point determined by the composition of fuel gas or lower. Hereby, a part of oxidative reaction heat is carried downstream, and it raises the temperature of combustion exhaust gas, thus the drop of the catalyst activity caused by the condensation of stream is prevented.
