Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst component comprising reaction products of a certain complex with a non-halogenated reducing compound and halogenated compound and having polymerizating activity without using halogenated hydrocarbon as an activating agent.

CONSTITUTION: This catalyst component comprises the reaction products of (A) a complex of a halogenated vanadium compound such as VCl3 and an electron donor such as alcohol represented by formula VX3.nED (wherein X represents a halogen atom; ED represents an electron donor compound; n is from 0.5 to 6), (B) a non-halogenated reducing compound which may react with an electron donor in the complex represented by formula AlR2Y (wherein Y represents R, H, OR, OalR2; R represents a 1-12C alkyl) such as triethylaminium, and (C) a halogenated compound selected from among aromatic or aliphatic, saturated or unsaturated halohydrocarbons and esters of halogenated unsaturated aliphatic acid.
