Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a demetallization catalyst having a high demetallization activity and a long catalytic life by adjusting its pore diameter distribution and including a specified catalyst component, to provide a desulfurization catalyst which, when spent, can be regenerated without being broken or powdered and exhibits high desulfurization activity, and to provide a method for efficiently hydrotreating a hydrocarbon oil by using the catalysts.
SOLUTION: There are provided a hydrotreating catalyst composition prepared by impregnating an alumina-based carrier with at least one metallic component selected from the elements of groups VIA and VIII in the periodic table, wherein the composition contains a calcium component, and a method for hydrotreating a hydrocarbon oil by using the same. This composition can give a demetallization catalyst and a desulfurization catalyst.
